Last week, all three FanBridge offices teamed up and split into separate teams to tackle a week long hackathon focused on YouTube and video creators. We’ll be releasing a handful of projects that came out of the hack week, and the first one we’d like publicly introduce is called YouTube Video Answers. With this shiny new update to our popular Fan Questions feature, you will be able to record video answers to your pending Fan Questions without ever leaving your FanBridge account.
If you’re not familiar with the original Fan Questions, it is a great tool to both engage your fans and grow your email list. You simply direct fans to a hosted landing page or embeddable widget and prompt them to ask you questions. Once a fan asks you a question, they are prompted to share their email address and join your list. The questions queue privately within your account, and you can pick and choose which questions to answer. When you do, the answers get posted publicly for fans to share, and the fan who asked the question gets an email alert letting them know that you have answered their question.
With this new update, our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to directly answer your fans with a personal video response to their most pressing questions. Instead of typing a text response, you can immediately record a video answer right from your browser with a webcam. Not only have we made uploading the video much easier, we’ve also given the entire Fan Questions interface a makeover. It’s now easier than ever to manage your Fan Questions.
Here’s how it all works:
Once you are logged in to your account, head to the Fan Questions tab.
Easily toggle between answered and unanswered questions
When you’ve found the question you’d like to answer, click the “Answer” button and then choose “Record Video Answer”
You’ll now need to sync up with your Google Account as these videos will be powered by and hosted on your YouTube channel (aka more views for you!). You’ll only need to enter your login credentials to link your account once, and then it will be all set for the future. Side note: Depending on your operating system, you may need to allow permissions for FanBridge to activate the camera on your desktop. Make sure you “allow” or the video recording will not work.
Afterwards, make sure to boost your video views by sharing with your fans on Facebook and Twitter.
When your video answer is uploaded it will also be shared on your YouTube channel with automatically optimized video descriptions that link back to the Fan Action Page. Without any extra work, you will be boosting video views and clicks to your Fan Questions page. More clicks = more questions, and more questions = more signups for your email list since 70% of fans who ask a question then sign up to the email list. Keep answering questions to keep the cycle going and your list growing. What’s not to love?
