Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes of great web design?  For great looking emails, there’s usually a combination of organized content to ease readability, graphics and formatting that are consistent with the aesthetics of the sender, and in general, a lot of tables.  When it comes to constructing emails, tables can be used to help your campaign look outside the box by keeping things confined inside it.  Look to this element to create fixed formatting and coordination of text and/or images.

To create a table in a FanBridge campaign, select the Insert Table icon found on the editor toolbar.

The pop-up window you’ll see gives you general table options like the number of rows, columns, and size.  For example, to recreate a basic FanBridge template as a table, you’ll want a table with one column and three rows (header, body, footer) that is both centered and 550 pixels wide.

If you tab to the Advanced tab in the table formatting window, you’ll see options like choosing a background color or image.  For the background image, you can select an image from the Moxiecode Image Manager.  These advanced options allow you to customize your table layout even further for a truly custom look.

It can take a combination of background colors, background images, and tables within tables to build the look you want, but the end result can be something that is aesthetically pleasing with consistency from browser to browser.  For example, some of FanBridge’s own emails require multiple tables and use of the advanced settings.
